The principals at Fore Golf Asia have been operating golf clubs and resorts in Vietnam since 1996. Accordingly, FGA has developed expertise and relationships re. every specific function and responsibility at a property. Some clubs choose to tackle these duties in-house, with staff. Other choose outsourcing. There is no “correct” approach, but FGA is available to consult with a client on the full range of these specialty topics:
Membership Marketing
Selling the golf club — its memberships, its tee times, its restaurant and bar, its signature apparel and golf equipment — is double the job most owners anticipate. Fore Golf Asia is fully prepared to consult to clients on this reaching out to the community at large — through sophisticated media strategies, advertising and corporate synergies — in search of prospective members and resort golfers.
However, it’s important to remember that club’s best sales assets are its members. The club must work every day to make them feel special, thereby incentivizing them to sell the club to friends and business associates.
Sales & Marketing
If you build a great club, the members won’t necessarily come. Preparing a compelling sales message and communicating that message to potential membership populations is vital to a club’s success and profitability. Fore Golf will help clients:
• Work with in-house staff to develop a specific sales strategies by target markets, including complete competitive research on pricing, supply, demand and demographics.
• Recommend qualified marketing vendors
• Approve strategic public relations objectives
• Recommend qualified PR/media vendors.
• Oversee development, approval and distribution of club newsletter
• Implement participation in various reciprocity programs.
• Coordinate membership sales and services program including data management, orientation program, promotions, member events and sales commissions structures.
• Define requirements and recommend/approve contracted service providers for; advertising agency, graphic designer, public relations agency and electronic commerce provider.
• Approve and plan purchase of media advertising program.
• Monitor and liaise with service agencies providing graphic design, public relations and advertising.
• Implement e-commerce and web strategies
Human Resources
It takes more than two dozen skilled staff to run proper golf club in Asia. During the pre-opening process, FGA will help the client fill key positions including but not limited to the roles of the Club General Manager and/or Director of Golf, Golf Course Superintendent, Financial Controller, Human Resources Director, Caddy Master, Golf Operations Manager and other specialized golf course positions. FGA will help the client locate and hire people of real quality and experience who will, in turn, assist the client in filling further positions. However, access to the region’s top people, and hiring those people, is only part of what Fore Golf will do. FGA will help the client:
• Implement regular review of all departmental policies and procedures, and review/update employee manual as required.
• Approve ongoing recruitment requirements and source qualified candidates for interviewing and hire
• Maintain and implement approved organization chart, salary schedule and employee benefits program.
• Implement orientation and training program
• Monitor and implement all staff facilities as required such as; dormitory sanitation and living conditions, security, transportation schedules and vehicles and canteen sanitation and food quality.
• Administer annual performance appraisals
• Monitor uniform program and theme
• Develop staff scheduling plan for all departments.
Site Evaluation
Fore Golf Asia will visit your property and provide a comprehensive review of your club and offer recommendations to improves operations and physical plant. Tasks here are as varied as club operations and physical characteristics are numerous. But FGA will offer its expert insight into any aspect of your club operation that has provide troublesome, from menu concepts to capital expense proposals to the viability of your course drainage system.
