Operational Management

It’s the day-to-day systems and efficiencies that make a golf club or resort operation run smoothly and profitably — indoors and outdoors, short-term and long-term. Fore Golf Asia is available to clients re. the full range of operational functions, which can be fairly placed under separate clubhouse and course umbrellas.

On the Clubhouse side, these functions include:

• Monitoring service and operational standards for the areas of guest arrival, golf cart operations, pro shop/ retail, locker rooms, caddies, marshals, golf cart staging and storage. This includes implementing new standard or retraining, as required.

• Coordinating tee time reservations schedules

• Monitoring and implementing the power cart rotation and asset protection program, including repairs and maintenance, warranty monitoring and compliance, preventative maintenance program and mechanic’s training

• Implementing a tournament and corporate services program

• Monitoring the quality and programming within the golf instruction program and assisting with the training of golf professionals.

• Implementing savvy branding/consistent theming of restaurants and function spaces

• Developing and implementing dining concepts/menus for all outlets

• Developing and implementing banquet and function programs, which should be their own profit centers

• Managing all service contracts such as waste collection, pest control and equipment maintenance

• Implementing weekly and/or monthly reporting requirements as defined with the client.

• Preparing and submitting annual operating budgets

• Implementing maintenance of bank accounts

• Coordinating maintenance of asset register

• Coordinating profit transfer to ownership

• Implementing replacement/upgrade plans for information systems

• Coordinating FGA global preferred pricing and volume discounts

• Monitoring the required Golf Facilities software solution providers for the point-of-sale system (golf, food and beverage, tee-time) and accounting system.

• Co-ordinate the efficient management of office space

Club managers must have an intimate understanding of agronomy and maintain a close, communicative relationship with the course superintendent. To this end, Fore Golf Asia will help clients on the Course side:

• Monitoring the course set-up, playing conditions, course grooming and turf standards and implement improvements where required including green speeds and flagstick and tee placements.

• Monitoring and approving the mowing programs for tees, greens, fairways and roughs including the height, pattern and frequency.

• Monitoring and approving the fertilizer and chemical application programs including rates, frequencies and early prevention.

• Monitoring bunker maintenance program including edging, contamination, sand depth, raking patters and frequency and playability.

• Monitoring irrigation programs including frequency, quantity, efficiency and water quality.

• Monitoring and approving programming for cultural practices including topdressing, verticutting and aerification.

• Monitoring and adjusting of drainage requirements

• Monitoring the golf maintenance operations centre for quality standards and safety compliance

• Implementing and monitoring the general, chemical, fertilizer, fuel and lubricants storage system program

• Implementing and monitoring daily, weekly and monthly cleaning program for all equipment, including rolling 5-year plan for equipment replacement

• Ensuring staff compliance with national health and safety guidelines

• Sourcing suppliers for consumables, fuel, fertilizers, chemicals, perishables and spare parts.

• Maintaining the required operating licenses for chemical applications and equipment operation

• Implementing controls for cash, purchasing, receiving, inventory and requisition.
